From 1 July 2026, all real estate agencies across Australia are required to complete identity verification checks under new Anti-Money Laundering and Counter-Terrorism Financing (AML/CTF) laws.

The good news? It’s quick, secure and much simpler than it sounds.

What Does This Mean for Me?

After you’ve appointed Davey Real Estate, we’ll send you a secure SMS through our compliance partner, EasyAML.

Simply follow the link, upload your identification and answer a few questions. Most clients complete the process in just a few minutes from their phone.

Why Is This Being Introduced?

Buying and selling property involves significant amounts of money, and the Australian Government has introduced these new laws to help protect the property market from money laundering and financial crime.

Every real estate agency in Australia is now required to complete these checks.

What Will I Need?

For most sellers, it’s simply:

✔ A current driver’s licence or passport

✔ Your legal name and contact details

✔ Confirmation you’re authorised to sell the property

If your property is owned by a trust, company or self-managed super fund, we may ask for a little extra information.

Will This Delay My Sale?

Not if it’s completed early.
